Poetry In Motion

I watched as it twirled
Round and round again.
It groaned as it whirled,
Ready to stop...And then

A sucking sound as water drained
Next, no sound at all.
But all too soon, it once more came...
A rushing waterfall!

Oh, the sound of the washing machine
Performing its cheerful chore.
Cleaning clothes for the family
We could not ask for more!

Twirling and whirling, filling and draining
clothes struggling to pull free.
The old washer keeps right on straining...
Why?  It's a mystery to me!

All I know is I enjoy the tune
Of the washer with its devotion.
I know that I'll hear very soon
Its Poetry in Motion!
