ONCE UPON A TIME
ONCE
UPON A TIME, this nation gathered as one
and fought the war of all wars to save
our country...
ONCE UPON A TIME, our people were filled
with an unrivaled, patriotic passion for
freedom and a firm resolve to maintain
justice and tranquility...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, attitudes began to change
and these same people began reaching out
to a world they envisioned as an oyster,
a cornucopia filled with all and free for their taking...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, secure, comfortable and
unafraid, they began electing to
government office, those whom they
believed would solicit, serve and
maintain the American way...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, these same people decided
that their elected "servants"
would be the "workers" who
would relieve them from all their
responsibilities...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, these elected officials did
serve but they slowly began seeing
themselves as all-knowing and
righteous...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, the servants became the
masters. They saw themselves
surrogates...and so, they began enacting laws, exempting themselves,
becoming wealthy and powerful in the
process...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, our country and its people,
free and sovereign had lived to the
code, "One for all, and all for
one"...now, they seemed to begin to
think only of themselves...
ONCE UPON A TIME, being faced with
adversity, while too sheepish to
respond, these people rallied to the
wrongful cry, "Why doesn't the
government do something about
it?"...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, the government did do
something. It grew! It
shucked off its chains and fed an
insatiable appetite...
ONCE UPON A TIME, the people still did
not understand nor did they realize that their individual
sovereignty was being bartered away by
the new masters who were once their
willing servants...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, the people now began to rally to a new
cause; one that slowly erupted onto the
"me" generation...
ONCE UPON A TIME, few would remember
that our country, a
great ship and had a star to steer by,
was floundering in rough seas ... and as
its star became obscured, complacency, fear and
indecision reigned. Government waste, greed and the
individual need for more power spawned
the new voice of radical liberalism, which
further promoted moral decay
and permissiveness, all cleverly masked
beneath the cloak of individual
rights...
ONCE
UPON A TIME, our nation, born of
patriots, had begun to lose its place in the sun...
ONCE UPON A TIME, now was now and
then was then! And as our eyes
reveal that we have become a fearful gathering of
complacent people whose sins shall
commission us to reside among a
gathering of terrible human debris!
Once Upon A Time
And such was then, but it is now
a transformation new:
with blood-stained hands our enemies
have created a day they'll rue!
And as they lurk
within the shadows;
the Lord did bless the weak
to make all strong with a firm resolve
even while they weep.
Terrible deaths and so
much grief
for everyone young and old
Terrible lessons beyond belief
lessons that tear at each soul.
And then a miracle of
miracles
divinely touched them all
to prove beyond their wildest dreams
their God lives, after all!
And once upon a
time... souls were whole again...
Once Upon A Time!
